The Beeches Course – 5765yds Par 69
This course offers a fantastic blend of some of the original holes constructed in 1991 and some of the newest holes opened in 2008 on the Kigbeare estate. Over the last couple of years, improvements have been made to the greens and to the drainage on the course. Some holes have been changed with new tee blocks being constructed; this has altered the shape, increased the length and vastly improved the hole. 972 trees have been re-located around the course, which has helped to give the course and holes definition. The course is considered by many as the most picturesque of our courses, with stunning vistas towards Dartmoor and with views across the Kigbeare, Forest and Ashbury courses.
Beeches 13th – 342yds Par 4 – This hole has been built within a former tree plantation on the Kigbeare estate. From the tee the fairway slopes from right to left, a drive down the right side of the fairway will release the ball to the left hand side of the fairway leaving an uphill pitch shot to the large two tiered green.
Beeches 12th – 177yds Par 3 – A classic hole with stunning views across to Dartmoor. From the tee the hole is flanked by crafted man-made mounds, with the green framed in the middle. There is a stunning backdrop of Dartmoor with ‘Sourton Tor’ and ‘Yes Tor’ (the second highest point of Dartmoor) visible. From the tee as well as having views across the Kigbeare course, there are also views of rolling Devon countryside.
Beeches 15th – 151yds Par 3 – One of the original holes on the complex this hole has seen a dramatic transformation over the last 2 years. The tee blocks have been completely re-located and raised, so rather than hitting up to the green, you are teeing from the same level. This has altered the shape of the hole completely. The hole is surrounded by mature trees so an accurate tee shot is required to this two tiered green. Guests have commended us on the improvement that the changes have made to the hole.
Beeches 6th – 375yds Par 4 – A drive from the raised tee down the left will release the ball to the right side of the fairway. This leaves an approach shot to the green with a bank at the back, which helps any shots hit too long to run back towards the green.
